Commentary
First published in Mayr 1951: 133 (no. X). Autopsied by TIR in October 2014.
Images in Roberti 1950: Tav. IV,X (drawing) = Mayr 1951: 135 (X), Pellegrini 1951: no. 10 (photo) and 313 (10) (drawing), LIR (photo and drawing = IR).
Inscribed on the front of the bronze along the curve between the tow horses' heads, length about 5.5 cm. The letters are well legible and unambiguous. Alpha in both instances features a long, only slightly inclined bar, which does not touch the hasta.
The sequence can be segmented into an individual name χeli with a patronymic vaiθina, most probably the name of the donor.
Further references: Pellegrini 1951: 314 (no. 10) and 324 f., Mayr 1952: 176, Vetter 1954: 71, Mayr 1962: 222, Tibiletti Bruno 1978: 223.
