Commentary

First published in Mayr 1951: 133 (no. X). Autopsied by TIR in October 2014.

Images in Roberti 1950: Tav. IV,X (drawing) = Mayr 1951: 135 (X), Pellegrini 1951: no. 10 (photo) and 313 (10) (drawing), LIR (photo and drawing = IR).

Inscribed on the front of the bronze on the horses' belly. Not a letter as assumed by Mayr and Pellegrini 1951: 314 (no. 10), 324 f., but a (factory?) mark as often seen on Sanzeno bronzes, cp. esp. SZ-2, SZ-9.2 and SZ-20.

Further references: Pellegrini 1951: 324 f., Mayr 1952: 176, Vetter 1954: 71, Mayr 1962: 222, Tibiletti Bruno 1978: 223.
