The inscription should probably be read sinistroversely, with the bowl standing upright and {{c|Χ|Χ2}} written upside-down. {{c|A|A11}} is then upright, and {{c|U|U3}} appears in its inverted form typical for Venetic and the Raetic North.
Franz and {{bib|Kasseroler 1957}}: 80 read the inscription dextroversely, as seen when the bowl was stood on the shelf upside-down. Epigraphically, a sinistroverse reading with the bowl standing upright is preferable: While {{c||Χ2}} is written upside-down, {{c||A11}} is upright, and {{c||U3}} appears in its inverted form typical for Venetic and the Raetic North – also the arrangement of the individual scratches (in {{c||S}} and particularly {{c||S|d}}, {{c||U3}} and {{c||R2}}) suggests that the bowl was inscribed this way. Probably an owner's inscription.

Commentary

First published in Kasseroler 1957: 102 (M 620). Autopsied by TIR in November 2013.

Picture in Kasseroler 1957: Taf. 42, Abb. 2 (photo).

Franz and Kasseroler 1957: 80 read the inscription dextroversely, as seen when the bowl was stood on the shelf upside-down. Epigraphically, a sinistroverse reading with the bowl standing upright is preferable: While Χ2 s is written upside-down, A11 s is upright, and U3 s appears in its inverted form typical for Venetic and the Raetic North – also the arrangement of the individual scratches (in S s and particularly S d, U3 s and R2 s) suggests that the bowl was inscribed this way. Probably an owner's inscription.
