Inscribed in two lines on the front of the bronze, both starting at the stylised feet. The letters are well legible and unambiguous. In line 1, final {{c||U2}} is a little offset to the bottom to avoid the bulge of the figurine's arm; in line 2, final {{c||U2}}{{c||N}} is written on the neck of the figurine for the same reason. In {{c||Ś}} neither of the two bars is touching the respective hasta; a reading {{c||I}}{{c||N}} {{p||n}}{{p||i}} can be excluded.
We are probably concerned with names in both lines – either both are patronymics in {{m||-nu}}, or {{w||vaþanu}} is an individual name only happening to end in -{{p||n}}{{p||u}}. Neither name is independently attested.

Commentary
First published in Mayr 1950: 408 (V). Autopsied by TIR in October 2014.
Images in Roberti 1950: Tav.II,V (drawing) = Mayr 1950: 409 (V), Pellegrini 1951: 5a (photo) and 307 (5a) (drawing), LIR (photo and drawing = IR).
Inscribed in two lines on the front of the bronze, both starting at the stylised feet. The letters are well legible and unambiguous. In line 1, final is a little offset to the bottom to avoid the bulge of the figurine's arm; in line 2, final is written on the neck of the figurine for the same reason. In neither of the two bars is touching the respective hasta; a reading ni can be excluded.
We are probably concerned with names in both lines – either both are patronymics in -nu, or vaþanu is an individual name only happening to end in -nu. Neither name is independently attested.
