Commentary
First published in Mayr 1951: 30 (no. VI). Autopsied by TIR in October 2014.
Images in Roberti 1950: Tav. II,VI (drawing) = Mayr 1951: 31 (VI), Pellegrini 1951: no. 6 (photo) and 307 (6) (drawing), LIR (photo and drawing = IR).
Inscribed on the front of the bronze, length about 5.2 cm. The characters are well discernible. on the perforated end is followed by an asterisk between two short strokes on each side; then some criss-crossing lines (see drawing). Most probably non-script, maybe pseudo-script – see here for possible interpretations of inscriptions with doubtful status.
Further references: Pellegrini 1951: 311 (no. 6) and 324, Mayr 1952: 176 (no. 6), Vetter 1954: 71 (no. 6).
