Numerous casts have been made of the Steinberg inscriptions; positives of the most recent one, made by the Institut für Ur- und Frühgeschichte Innsbruck in 1993, can be seen at the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum and the Archäologische Staatssammlung München. Drawings of the arrangement of the inscriptions in Vetter 1957: 386, Prosdocimi 1971: 30, Zavaroni 2004: Fig. 15 and Schumacher 2002: 1276 (= Schumacher 2004: Taf 8,1).
A group of scratches – about 33 cm in length, height about 10 cm – extending horizontally a little to the left of and slightly below ST-4. Joppich read dextroverse 
itiaupi. Prosdocimi 1971: 46, based on Joppich's drawing, dismissed this reading and opted to consider it a pseudo-inscription. Schumacher 1998b: 174 f. concurs with this assessment, on the grounds that the scratches are clearly more recent than the Raetic inscriptions on ST rock and cannot be arranged into alphabetic characters. The scratchings discussed by Zavaroni 2004: 60 ff. sub ST-9 are not the ones referred to by Joppich; they and the ones Zavaroni lists as "other inscriptons" (pp. 62 ff.) are pseudo-inscriptions as well.
