Commentary

First published in Vetter 1943: 80. Non vidi.

Pictures in Mayr 1960c: Abb. 1 (photo), IR (photo tav. LIII c and drawing = LIR), MLR (photo = IR photo tav. LIII c).

Length acc. to Mancini 3.1 cm. Judging by the photos, a white inlay has been applied. While te seems clear, only the upper parts of the first two letters are preserved; the reading tite (pipe) goes back to Mayr, who compared this testimony with an identical sequence in the incorrectly segmented BZ-4. The reading in its updated form is supported by the possible comparison with the Etruscan PN tite.
