Commentary

The form, documented only once, is highly likely to correspond to either esimne or esumne. Both these are names of Celtic origin, which may have led to confusion concerning pronunciation and spelling in Raetic context. Fot the dubious stem vowel cp. esiumninu in MA-14; for the simplification of the nasal cluster cp. esminu on SZ-87 as well as the piθam(n)e-group. Cp. also (debatable) pitaune ~ piθam(n)e for a possible insertion (?) of u before the (simplified) nasal cluster.
