Description: Defines the number of lines of an inscription.
Type: Number

Definition

Lines of an inscription can be lines in the narrow sense, i.e. when text on a (more or less) flat surface is arranged in sequences one below the other. In Raetic inscriptions, this is the exception. In the TIR, every spatially detached sequence on an object (on a different part of the same side or on another side) is considered a line, provided that the lines (are thought to) belong together as one inscription, which cannot always be determined securely.
