Commentary

First published in LIR.
Pictures in Nothdurfter 1979: 100 (195) (drawing) and LIR (drawing).
Mancini reads A5 sI s ia, but the twig of L2 s, though lacking the white inlay, seems well distiguishable – compare la? (SZ-62), also on an axe, and in the same place. In the inscription on the other side of the object, however, no twig can be made out. Compare also SZ-77, SZ-93.1 and SZ-93.2 (non-script) for signs in the same place on axes.
