Commentary
First published in Franz 1958b. Autopsied by TIR in November 2013.
Pictures in Franz 1958b: Abb. 2 (drawing), Mayr 1960f: 389 (drawing) and IR (photo tav. LII, fig. b and drawing = LIR), MLR (photo).
The inscription, about 8.5 cm long, is located right under the rim and in good condition. While Franz read pianusapau in spite of the oddly misaligned , Mayr 1960f: 389 proposed pianusapan with the hasta of missing due to a mistake by the writer, citing as a parallel the inscription SZ-16 laθurusi pianus apanin. Schumacher's idea that NO-2 might be a forgery based on SZ-16 (p. 336) relied on his incorrect segmentation of that inscription, and can now be dismissed. The inscription does, however, appear to be incomplete.
