LIR reads ia, but the twig of l, though lacking the white inlay, seems well distiguishable. Compare la? (), also on an axe, and in the same place. In the , however, no twig can be made out. Compare also and for scratchings (non-script) in the same place on axes.

Commentary

First published in LIR. Autopsied by TIR in November 2013.

Pictures in Nothdurfter 1979: 100 (195) (drawing) and LIR (drawing).

Length 1.6 cm. Mancini reads A5 sI s ia, but both a lower (fine and short) and an upper bar (broad, maybe corrosion, but compare SZ-76.2), though lacking white inlay, may be distinguished – see la for possible comparanda on axe heads and elsewhere.
