Length 5.5 cm. Written in the centre of the front side of the piece of antler, starting right after the drilled hole on the broader end. Autopsy is impeded by the fact that the object has been damaged since the 1970ies, when Mancini saw it: Broken into multiple fragments, it has been restored in a way which distorts the reading of esp. ; it is advisable to refer to the drawings and photographs provided by Pellegrini and Mancini, which show the inscription clearly legible despite the horizontal break. The area in the small lacuna between and has always been faulty; the presence of a punctuation mark cannot be excluded.
The sequence might be segmented into aruś-na-s, a patronymic in the genitive 'of the son/daughter of Aruś*'. Cp. SR-6 with possible arus as an individual name. See also Pellegrini & Sebesta 1965: 24 f. concerning the possible connection with the pagus Arusnatium.
