Commentary
Occurring twice, once on a bronze handle, once on an iron knife. Pellegrini 1951: 316 thinks of a factory mark or a number; Schumacher 2004: 299 f. suggests a factory mark in the pertinentive -si, with the manufacturer's name shortened ('[made] in the workshop of S(?)χ*') (cp. also IR: 272). We do not, however, know enough about the practice of metalworking in Sanzeno to judge whether the same workshop would have produced both bronze and iron implements, if indeed both objects were manufactured there.
