Commentary

Only attested once. De Simone 2013: 59 analyses the word as kleimun (name or institution) + enclitic deictic pronoun -θa + ablative ending -(i)s. The assumption of a pronoun, based on comparison with a form on the Tabula Cortonensis, seems unneccessary. The regular ablative of kleimun-θa would be kleimunθes (-eis is interpreted as reflecting an intermediate stage between -ais and -es p. 65). (Against the segmentation also Marchesini, as mentioned p. 68.) The function of the form in the text is not quite clear. De Simone reads it as an indication of the votive's sponsor, but seeing as in Etruscan, the ablative is prominently used to indicate some kind of source (place of birth, affiliation), this option should be considered here. Formally, the auslaut of kleimunθe befits a personal name, but a place name annot be excluded.
