Inscribed on the narrow bottom of the beaker, the tops of the letters pointing towards the foot. The entire inscription measures about 12 cm, the characters take up the entire breadth of the bottom. The object is restored, but a break runs right along the third ; the remains of the line can be seen in the bottom where the break extends to the left. The scratches on the fragment bearing and the beginning of the second sequence are fainter than on the second one; the difference is not between sequences 1 and 2.
The characters are well distingushable. For iθθi, probably a local factory mark, cp. AS-2 and AS-3, as well as AS-15.2 on the wall of the present object. It might be argued that the first and sixth letter of the other sequence should be read r, but in both instances, the lower bar of the angle touches the hasta at about a quarter of its height. Venetoid may be expected in the Val d'Astico. In any case, neither piseapasia nor risearasia lend themselves to interpretation in a Raetic context.
