Commentary

First published in Pellegrini 1918: 189 f. (no. 21).

Images in Pellegrini 1918: 189, fig. 28 (drawing), LIR (photo and drawing).

Length of the remains 5.3 cm. The letters are finely but deeply scratched and well legible. The hasta of E s coincides with the breaking edge, a break runs along the second bar of N s. The object is broken along S s and the lowest bar is missing, but no other letter is possible. No parallel or interpretation can be given.

On the back, on the preserved edge, an arrangement of lines line d 2 sline d 2 sspace sline d 1 sline d 1 s (length 1.9 cm), executed with single lines unlike the marks on most other antler votives from Magrè.
