Commentary
First published in Mayr 1954. Autopsied by TIR in November 2014.

Length 4.8 cm and 6 cm respectively. Well discernible despite the damage of the object; situated on two adjoining sides. The two remaining sides are broken off and may have held similar marks. Clearly non-script; see Non-script notational systems for a discussion of possible interpretations of inscriptions with doubtful status. In line 2, the cross-shapes are symmetrically lopsided, making the arrangement reminiscent of the asterisk symbol in one of its many variants (e.g., ).
