Commentary
First published in Mayr 1957: 230 f. Autopsied by TIR in October 2014.
Images in Mayr 1957: Abb. 1 (photo), IR (photo tv. XXXVb and drawing) = LIR.
Length 3 cm, starting from the broad end of the piece of antler. The letters are tidy and well legible. The interpretation of the St. Andrew's cross as being a seperate entity from the others characters is based on the identification of φausu with the name Bauso (see word page). Mayr read as an abbreviation for the verbal form þinake, Schumacher 1998: 94 prefers to interpret it as a delimiter.
