Compare the similar inscriptions SZ-45.1 / SZ-45.2 and SZ-46.1 / SZ-46.2, also on scythe rings, with uθiiθi on one and la on the other side. SZ-44.1 features an additional smaller stroke before U2 s and two little crosses inside the U2 s and in between the two I s, which have been ignored in the reading due to the abovementioned parallels.
