Further objects preserved in the Soprintendenza Archeologia del Veneto – Nucleo Operativo di Verona
Above (cp. Objects hosted) are indicated all objects preserved in the Soprintendenza Archeologia del Veneto – Nucleo Operativo di Verona with an inscription and/or characters listed with a siglum in the Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum.
In addition there are several objects with characters and/or incisions which are indicated in the references as inscription and/or signs with an alphabetical character. After the autopsy of the regarding objects and because of the doubtful status concerning the characters they were excluded from the main sigla system. But due to the fact that in the references they were considered to be inscribed they are listed with the siglum EX(cluded) in the Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum.
Related to the Soprintendenza Archeologia del Veneto – Nucleo Operativo di Verona the following objects belong to this group:
EX-108: bone, Inv. No. IG VR 65203; EX-109: bone, Inv. No. IG VR 65202.
For further information concerning the EX-siglum system as well as detailed indications related to the above-mentioned objects cp. here.
Further objects from San Giorgio di Valpolicella
Organic material objects
Moreover there are other bone objects from San Giorgio di Valpolicella which are indicated in Marinetti 2003 as well as in Marinetti 2004. In all probability these bones must also be stored in the Soprintendenza Archeologia del Veneto – Nucleo Operativo di Verona, however currently these pieces are untraceable. The classification to the EX-siglum system is based on the drawings in Marinetti 2003 and Marinetti 2004. The following objects belong to this group:
EX-110: bone; EX-111: bone; EX-112: bone; EX-113 bone.
For further information concerning the EX-siglum system as well as detailed indications related to the above-mentioned objects cp. here. For more information about the objects and the characters they bear cp. Marinetti 2003: fig. 1, fig. 2; Marinetti 2004: fig. 2, fig. 3.
Ceramic objects
In addition to the bone findings likewise pottery comes from the excavation effected in San Giorgio di Valpolicella. These objects, for the most part various ceramic fragments, are also indicated in Marinetti 2003 as well as in Marinetti 2004. In all probability this fragmentary pottery must also be preserved in the Soprintendenza Archeologia del Veneto – Nucleo Operativo di Verona, but currently these pieces are untraceable. A classification to the different sigla systems only on the basis of the drawings given in Marinetti 2003 as well as in Marinetti 2004 was not reasonable; only an autopsy of these fragments could provide reliable information about the correct attribution. The following ceramic objects belong to this group:
Marinetti 2003: 114 [No. 15], fig. 3.15 (= Marinetti 2004: 416 [No. 15], fig. 4.15); Marinetti 2003: 114 [No. 16], fig. 3.16 (= Marinetti 2004: 416 [No. 16], fig. 4.16); Marinetti 2003: 114 [No. 17], fig. 3.17 (= Marinetti 2004: 416 [No. 17], fig. 4.17); Marinetti 2003: 114 [No. 18], fig. 3.18 (= Marinetti 2004: 416 [No. 18], fig. 4.18); Marinetti 2003: 114 [No. 19], fig. 3.19 (= Marinetti 2004: 416 [No. 19], fig. 4.19); Marinetti 2003: 114–115 [No. 20], fig. 3.20 (= Marinetti 2004: 416 [No. 20], fig. 4.20).
Because of the fact that the pottery is currently untraceable and the difficult valuation only on the basis of Marinetti's drawings these ceramic objects were also left out in the recently released study about the Raetic inscriptions by Marchesini (written information by Simona Marchesini; for the findings from San Giorgio di Valpolicella included in the MLR cp. MLR: 138–144).
Objects from Montorio Veronese
Marinetti 2004: 409). A more extensive documentation of these findings Marinetti presented already in 2000 (cp. Marinetti 2000: 74–77). The objects are included in the Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum with the following sigla:
"frammento ceramico" = VR-9 potsherd; "frammento di corno" = VR-6 antler; "due ossicini" = VR-7 bone and VR-8 bone.
The objects found on the hill of the Castello di Montorio Veronese are preserved in the Soprintendenza Archeologia del Veneto – Nucleo Operativo di Verona. All these, likewise the ceramic fragments with Latin script, are traceable.
