Commentary

Fragment; probably haft, maybe of a knife, or grip of a tool.
Whitish in colour. Round cross section, both ends rounded. At the narrow end sawed-trough a little. In the wider area slivered.
Along a decoration in form of dice eyes.
At the wider end characters, at the narrow end one character.
Doubts in matters of the material. The literature, e.g. Nothdurfter 2002: 1150, indicates the two possibilities: antler or bone. In the museum the object is described as made of bone.
To reflect: kind of handle (handle, haft, grip)
