Commentary

Bone (metacarpus) of a pig (Sus scrofa).
On one side an inscription.
For the find circumstances cp. Luciano Salzani, Lettura di una sezione stratigrafica al maton di Castelrotto, in: Annuario storico della Valpolicella, 1986-87, 5-20. Moreover: MLR: 151.
In the recently released study about the Raetic inscriptions by Marchesini the bone is listed with "MLR 139". According to the indications in MLR the bone is kept in the Soprintendenza Archeologia del Veneto – Nucleo Operativo di Verona, however an autopsy was not effected (cp. MLR: 152 [MLR 139]).
So far not autopsied by the Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum. The indications follow the information given in literature (cp. below the bibliography).
