Commentary

Not previously published. Autopsied by TIR in November 2014.

Length of the remains 1.7 cm; incised on the inside just below the rim. The two characters are well visible. To the right of Φ2 s, a gap between character and breaking edge; more lost characters on this side are unlikely.

The object is one of numerous pot sherds from the Rungger Egg which bear characters (see Non-script notational systems). Only two of these have been included in the corpus (cp. SI-2). While S d and especially Φ2 s are letter shapes untypical for marks and non-script scratchings, it cannot be determined whether we are concerned with script. No secure testimonies of script come from the area of Seis am Schlern / Siusi allo Sciliar.
