The present fragment is the only (known) inscribed specimen. Its identification as a bit of a miniature shield is ascertained by the presence of a trace of one of the embossed rings which circle the buckle on such shields ({{bib|Kirchmayr & Schumacher 2019}}: 258).

The small fragment is one of over 200 such pieces found on the Pillerhöhe which still await their collective investigation and publication. See Tschurtschenthaler & Wein 1998: 243 and Tschurtschenthaler & Wein 2002: 657–661 for information about the (longer-known) miniature shields from the site, and images. The objects are summarily dated to the early La Tène period.

The present fragment is the only (known) inscribed specimen. Its identification as a bit of a miniature shield is ascertained by the presence of a trace of one of the embossed rings which circle the buckle on such shields (Kirchmayr & Schumacher 2019: 258).
