Commentary

Bronze ritual spatula.
Cast.
The decoration on the front side, representing a horse, chiseled.
On the back side an inscription at the margin on the left as well as on the right and characters in the form of an asterisk and a caporale at the lower area of the handle.
The decoration indicates a date to the turn from type A to type B at which the type B dates to the 6th–5th centuries BC. The ritual spatula can be classified into the tipo venetico B according the typology by Zuffa. Il tipo venetico B corresponds to the 6th-5th centuries BC (cp. Gambacurta et al. 2002: 186-187 (cat. No. 20) with fig.).
