Sanzeno bowl.<br>Fine clay, from dark grey to brown in colour; inside on the bottom blackened; moderate tempered of fine grained sand and cast gold; reduction firing; burnished. High neck and the typical omphalos. Restored by composing different fragments.<br>Between neck and belly decoration in form of a circumferential ribbon. Below further decorations: at three positions a group of ''striae'' at which the number is alternating between 9 and 11. Between the ''striae''-decorations a X-shaped character which is part of the ornamentation. Decorations before firing.<br>On transition from the belly to the bottom [[index::SZ-56|characters]].<br>The find date, June 1906, given by Mancini is uncertain (also Mancini indicates the find date as arguable; cp. {{bib|LIR}}: 109). Commentary
Sanzeno bowl.
