Bronze statuette of a warrior.<br>Surface smoothed, patina from dark brown to greenish. The statuette stands on a small round foot, along the edge an [[index::SZ-16|inscription]].<br>The bronze statuette was discovered by chance in 1846 (cp. {{bib|Ghislanzoni 1931}}: 410, fn. 1; '''Weber 1903''' -> Simone Weber in ''Rivista Tridentina'', III, 1903).<br>According to {{bib|Walde Psenner 1983}}: 108 and {{bib|Oberosler 2004c}}: 658, the statuette dates - in agreement with other bronze statuettes of the same type - to the 5th century BC.<br>Possibilities for interpretation: statuette of a warrior or statuette of the divinity Mars.<br>So far not autopsied by the ''Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum''. Commentary
Bronze statuette of a warrior.
Surface smoothed, patina from dark brown to greenish. The statuette stands on a small round foot, along the edge an inscription.
The bronze statuette was discovered by chance in 1846 (cp. Ghislanzoni 1931: 410, fn. 1; Weber 1903 -> Simone Weber in Rivista Tridentina, III, 1903).
According to Walde Psenner 1983: 108 and Oberosler 2004c: 658, the statuette dates - in agreement with other bronze statuettes of the same type - to the 5th century BC.
Possibilities for interpretation: statuette of a warrior or statuette of the divinity Mars.
So far not autopsied by the Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum. The indications follow the information given in literature (cp. below the bibliography).
