Commentary

Ceramic fragment. Bottom of a bowl with omphalos, probably Sanzeno bowl.
Fine clay from brown to black in colour, with a moderate temper of fine grained sand and cast gold.
Stamped decoration in the area of the fracture visible. Decoration before firing.
Characters in the centre of the omphalos and at two positions around the omphalos. Also the characters incised before firing.
Find circumstances like exact find place or find year are unknown.
The dating follows the common typology related to Sanzeno bowls.
The present ceramic fragment is until now unpublished. In the here available data bank about the Raetic inscriptions the potsherd is the first time mentioned.
Autopsied by the Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum in November 2013.
