Commentary

Handle, probably of a knife or a tool.
Smoothed surface, on both ends broken.
Doubts in matters of the material. The literature, e.g. Nothdurfter 2002: 1150, indicates the two possibilities: antler or bone. In the museum the object is described as made of bone.
On one longside an inscription, on the other longside a decoration in form of a dice eye.
