Commentary

Gouge with nozzle.
In cross section octogonal handle. Enlargement to the slightly curved blade. Highly damaged to the corrosion. Dimensions in according to Nothdurfter: length 22.8cm, blade width 4.3 cm, nozzle diameter 3 cm.
Along probably non-script characters.
Mancini indicates the object twice: The No. SA-55 as well as the No. SA-80 are related to the present gouge (cp. for No. SA-55: LIR: 114 with transcription; for No. SA-80: LIR: 132).
Compared to the description in PID, the attribution is uncertain and arguable.
Autopsied by the Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum in November 2013.
