Lengthwise sawed through; the curved upper side is not worked and therefore rough. One side and one end broken; probably at this end perforated (cp. Mayr 1957c: 426).
Along an inscription from right to left.
Mayr explaines that the antler is preserved at the Castello del Buonconsiglio, however already untraceable in his day (cp. Mayr 1957c: 426). Schumacher and Nothdurfter follow the indication by Mayr and note the Castello del Buonconsiglio as repository (cp. Schumacher 2004: 137; Nothdurfter 2002: 1151 [list 3, below No. 8]). However, in the recently released study by Marchesini the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum is indicated, but also that the object is lost (cp. MLR: 214 [MLR 241]). The study and autopsy by the team of the Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum have shown that the object is not traceable anymore at the Castello del Buonconsiglio. Therefore the antler probably must be considered as lost.
Due to the fact that the object is probably lost, no autopsy by the Thesaurus Inscriptionum Raeticarum was (yet) possible. Therefore the indications follow the information given in literature (cp. below the bibliography).
