The two vertical stokes discernible to the left of both lines, which have been read as I s (Whatmough, Franz) are more probably the remains of a decorative band as on the other end of the handle. The sequence I sI sU2 sI sI s (broken off along the second stroke from the left) is hardly iiuii, but an ornament filling the line.
