Commentary

Loom weight, made of ceramic.
Typical pyramid shape: quadrilateral, slightly tapered; on the narrow end perforated.
Characters on two opposite sides (cp. PU-2).
The object was found in 1954 during construction works. In a cultural layer at a depth of about 2 meters were discovered a large number of potsherds, bones, several objects and fragments of bronze and iron. Remarkable was the number of only fragmentary preserved loom weights.
Due to the fact that the potsherds could relate to vessels of the type Sanzeno-Schale and/or Fritzener Schale all the findings date to the Fritzens-Sanzeno culture. The dating 5th–3rd c. follows Constantini 2002: 48.
