and are clearly legible, though the presence of rare z casts doubt on the interpretation of the signs as script. Three more strokes are visible crossing the breaking edge, but cannot be positively arranged to form letters.
First mentioned in Sinnhuber 1949: 64-65, Taf. XXV, 43. Pay attention for the different statements related to the craftmanship: according Schumacher the characters were made after firing, according to Sinnhuber however before firing. In Sinnhuber also the reference of time and cause of the modern white inlays which were made of chalk for an accentuation because of the photos (see Sinnhuber 1949: 64).
