Commentary

Fragment of a ceramic vessel. According to Pellegrini as well as Whatmough a cinerary urn, found in the "orto Barbieri" (probably field name?) during an excavation executed in 1909 (cp. Pellegrini 1918: 193, fn 3 and PID: 33). For detailed information about the excavation see Alfonsi 1911.
