Commentary

First published in Pellegrini & Sebesta 1965: 15 (no. 11). Autopsied by TIR in November 2014.

Length about 22 cm. The lines tend to converge at the top, the grouping of them into characters is dubious. Probably non- or pseudo-script. Cp. IT-6, also on a ciottolone. See Non-script notational systems for a discussion of possible interpretations of inscriptions with doubtful status. On the back, a character with the intersecting lines at a right angle, and turned 45° in relation to the inscription.
