==Commentary==
Ceramic fragment. Potsherd of a bowl with compressed S-shaped profile. Almost the half of the entire bowl is preserved. Compressed body, distinct neck, distinctly bended mouth rim and flat omphalos. Fine clay from brown to dark grey in colour with a medium-fine temper of schist; inside as well as outside coating from light brown to dark brown in colour, burnished; reduction firing. The preserved fragment is broken at the mouth rim. The above indicated dimension is given by Lunz (cp. {{bib|Lunz 1974}}: 397). On the belly circumferential ''striae''-decoration. The strokes are broad and run at regular interval. Inside, on the bottom likewise a decoration of ''striae'' which run radially from the centre of the bottom to the transition to the shoulder. Both decorations incised before firing. Characters at two position: Outside on the bottom ([[index::WE-5.1]]) and inside on the rim ([[index::WE-5.2]]). The characters also before firing. According to von Merhart the sherd comes from the burial ground in the area of the farm [[index::Reiferfelder]] (cp. {{bib|Von Merhart 1927}}: 109). The excavation was directed by Franz von Wieser 1908 (cp. {{bib|Von Wieser 1909}}: 198–199; cp. in the present database [[index::WE-7 potsherd]] which comes also from the [[index::Reiferfelder]] area). Von Merhart publishes all the findings which do not belong to the burial context (cp. http://sammellust.ferdinandeum.at/page/objekte/1908b). It can be assumed that the ceramic fragment was discovered during the excavation directed by Franz von Wieser in 1908 or during the excavation directed by Adrian Egger in spring 1909 (cp. for the find history related to [[index::Mellaun / Meluno]] and the area of the farm [[index::Reiferfelder]]: {{bib|Lunz 1974}}: 173–174). However the exact find place is unknown. The dating follows the common typology related to bowls with "low" resp. compressed S-shaped profile (cp. {{bib|Lunz 1974}}: 111; {{bib|Gamper 2006}}: 13–17). The sherd was first published by von Merhart (cp. {{bib|Von Merhart 1927}}: 109, fig. XVI.3). Franz mentions the sherd a second time however with particular regard to the inscription (cp. {{bib|Franz 1959}}: 229 with a drawing of the bowl [fig. 2.4]). Here Franz states the description "''Tongefäßscherben der Sanzeno-Art''" (cp. {{bib|Franz 1959}}: 229). However Lunz indicates the ceramic fragment as part of bowl with compressed body and S-shaped profile whereat he assumes a modification of the common typology related to the [[index::WE-5 potsherd|present potsherd]] (cp. {{bib|Lunz 1974}}: 111). This modification must be connected with the "''Schale mit niedrig S-förmigen Profil''" which was characterised by Osmund Menghin in succession of Gero von Merhart (cp. {{bib|Lunz 1974}}: 329; for Menghin cp. {{bib|Menghin 1961}}: 18). In the recently released study about the Raetic inscriptions by Marchesini the [[WE-5 potsherd|sherd]] is listed with "MLR 73", an autopsy was effected (cp. {{bib|MLR}}: 103 [MLR 73]). According to the information given by Zemmer-Plank the S-shaped profile bowl dates to the 3rd-2nd centuries BC. The date indication by Zemmer-Plank follows the common typology related to bowls with S-shaped profile (cp. [[index::SZ-83 bowl]] as well as {{bib|Zemmer-Plank et al. 1985}}: 167). The fragment of a S-shaped bowl is until now unpublished. In the here available data bank about the Raetic inscriptions the potsherd is the first time mentioned. Meanwhile a new study about Raetic inscriptions was released by Marchesini. In this study the [[SZ-86 potsherd|fragment]] is listed with "MLR 185", an autopsy was effected (cp. {{bib|MLR}}: 184 [MLR 185]; obviously the publication refers to the [[index::WE-6|characters]] which the potsherd bears.). Bowl type Sanzeno. Complete and restored by composing different fragments. Broken in the area of the mouth rim. Fine clay, from medium brown in colour, with a moderate temper of fine grained sand and slight argentine mica; reduction firing; burnished. In accord with the typology of the bowls type Sanzeno: high neck, widely extending mouth rim, compressed body and the typical omphalos. Circumferential decoration in form of two deep, parallel running ribbons. Below further decorations: at different positions a group of vertical comb stamps perforations at which the number and dimension are alternating. Decorations before firing. On the bottom [[index::SZ-85|characters]]. Find spot [[index::Sanzeno]], but further find circumstances unknown. The object presents one of the old findings from [[index::Sanzeno]] which were found by the local inhabitants at the end of the 19th century in [[index::Sanzeno]]. The major part of these findings were acquired by the [[index::Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum|Tyrolean State Museum]] in the course of the turn of the century, hence the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century. Further find circumstances like exact find place are unknown. Only Mancini indicates the 22th may of 1901 as find date. Related to the find spot [[index::Sanzeno]] it is known that there a two-day excavation directed by Franz von Wieser took place in the spring of this year (cp. {{bib|Von Merhart 1926}}: 71–72). The objects found during this excavation were then brought to the [[index::Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum|Tyrolean State Museum]] (cp. {{bib|Von Merhart 1926}}: 72; moreover von Merhart states here that the major part of all the findings made in [[index::Sanzeno]] between 1898 and 1914 was acquired by von Wieser for the [[index::Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum|Tyrolean State Museum]]). Connecting both information, in all probability the object comes from the excavation directed by von Wieser. The dating given by Zemmer-Plank follows the common typology related to bowls with S-shaped profile (cp. {{bib|Zemmer-Plank et al. 1985}}: 167). Probably first published in {{bib|Zemmer-Plank et al. 1985}}: 167 (cat. No. 49), however there are neither a picture nor an archaeological drawing of the object. Related to the inventory number Mancini indicates a misinformation, in {{bib|LIR}}: 141 (No. SA-100) the inventory number 11.945 is given. In actual fact the correct inventory number is: 11.946. After the accidental finding of one [[index::MA-10 antler|antler]] an official governmental excavation was started. Fragment of an antler point. On one side perforated. Remains of an [[index::MA-22|inscription]]. Compared to the other antlers of [[index::Magrè]] the present object represents one of the first finds made accidentally by Giovanni Piccoli, a carpenter from [[index::Schio]], the 10th November, 1912. In consequence of this discovery an official excavation realized by the monument protection service was arranged from where the other pieces of antlers come. According to Pellegrini the whole antler group from [[index::Magrè]] dates to the Este culture - Este IV - and due to the archaic appearance of the characters the antlers date to the first half of this period, therefore to the 4th century BC (cp. {{bib|Pellegrini 1918}}: 175–176, 206). Fragment of an antler point. The fragment fits to [[index::MA-4 antler]] like the figure indicates (cp. {{bib|Pellegrini 1918}}: 189 [No. 20], fig. 27). The present fragment is the larger one. Both fragments charred; the middle section missing as well as the right side, hence the beginning of the entire inscription (cp. [[index::MA-4]]). On the present fragment is to observed the end of the whole [[index::MA-15|insription]]. After the accidental finding of one [[index::MA-10 antler|antler]] an official governmental excavation was started. The major part of the findings was discovered at the 3rd stratum near the medieval tower on the hill (cp. {{bib|Pellegrini 1918}}: 175). According to Pellegrini the whole antler group from [[index::Magrè]] dates to the Este culture - Este IV - and due to the archaic appearance of the characters the antlers date to the first half of this period, therefore to the 4th century BC (cp. {{bib|Pellegrini 1918}}: 175–176, 206). Gambacurta however dates the entire group to the 3rd–2nd centuries BC (cp. {{bib|Gambacurta 2002b}}: 122 and in consequence {{bib|Gambacurta et al. 2002}}: 188). According to the drawing given by Pellegrini most likely the [[MA-15 antler|present antler piece]] must combine with [[index::MA-4 antler]]: Despite the drawing and reading of the entire inscription given in Pellegrini (cp. {{bib|Pellegrini 1918}}: 189 [No. 20], fig. 27), Whatmough separates the two fragments and indicates two different inscriptions with a particular number (cp. {{bib|PID}}: 37–38 [No. 223] and {{bib|PID}}: 44 [No. 235]. Schumacher follows the indications given in the PID (cp. {{bib|Schumacher 2004}}: 162, [[index::MA-4]] and {{bib|Schumacher 2004}}: 164, [[index::MA-15]]). However Morandi combines the both fragments as indicated by Pellegrini, whereas he mentiones that "''non reperibile nel Museo di Este l'altro frammento con due lettere figurante nello stesso disegno della edizione di Notizie degli Scavi''" (cp. {{bib|Morandi 1999}}: 81 [No. 45]). Although Marchesini refers to the study by Morandi, she ignores the connection of both fragments. Therefore, on one side is indicated with number "MLR 47" the entire indication as given by Pellegrini and repeated by Morandi, moreover "MLR 47" is related to number 223 of the PID and [[index::MA-4]] of Schumacher, on the other side she listes with number "MLR 67" the [[MA-15 antler|present antler fragment]] with two letters again, whereas she refers to number 235 of the PID and [[index::MA-15]] of Schumacher. Concerning the repository of the [[MA-15 antler|present antler]] Schumacher notes that the current location is unknown (cp. {{bib|Schumacher 2004}}: 164 [MA-15]). But analogous to the other antler points from [[index::Magrè]] and their current repository, in all probability the [[MA-15 antler|fragment]] is also kept at the [[index::Museo Nazionale Atestino]] as indicated by e.g. Marchesini (cp. {{bib|MLR}}: 99 [MLR 67]). However, if the [[MA-15 antler|present antler]] can be combined with the [[index::MA-4 antler|other antler fragment]] as it coud be made clear by a future autopsy of the latter, it is possible that the [[MA-15 antler|present antler]] must be excluded from the entire corpus.
